A good relationship is derived from a complex formula of personality, attraction and timing. Attractiveness and compatibility are solely based on your personal preferences. Some women adore a man with a sense of humor while other women prefer a serious man and would see a comical man as “corny.” Similarly, one man might see a woman as too skinny while another man might view that same woman as too fat. People who claim to have no preference usually haven’t taken the time to analyze themselves well enough to know and articulate what they want, which brings me to the main factor…
Timing.

Yesterday, I was skimming a borrowed Jehovah’s Witness journal called “Awake” and was intrigued by an article, “Is Atheism on the March?”
The article defends against an assertion which is believed by most atheists.

If you haven’t seen them. I added some at the end of the post.
I don’t know about all that… but I was recently reading the Bhagavad Gita, an ancient Hindu text written in 1500 B.C.. A verse in this sacred book shocked me. It speaks of the characteristics of a Demonic Personality. When I read the verse, it sounded like it was describing the characteristics of… (Pick your favorite mainstream rapper.)
Please read the short verse and let me know if you see some alarming similarities. Continue reading →

The one I love is incapable of ill will; is friendly and compassionate. She lives beyond the reach of “I” and “mine” and of pleasure and pain. She is patient, contented, self-controlled, firm in faith; with all of her heart and mind given to me. This is the one I love. Continue reading →

Addiction
I remember…
Ingesting you feverishly
Feeling you reach down into my soul
Yanking and pulling
Expanding and contracting
Until I became
Free
From worry
Oblivious
to suffering
High
From my own delusions
I remember…

Every morning I spend an hour or two watching local news and looking through my rss feeds for international news on certain topics. For the past few months, my rss feed for “African American” has delivered a myriad of distressing news. Every day the national headlines regarding African Americans reflect poor health, ethics, education, and finances. Please take a moment to navigate away from this page and

As you know, I rarely post youtube videos as blogs. I ran across this video about three years ago but when I recently watched it again, it really spoke to me. The speaker was in a fight with cancer and could feel his life nearing its end. His words are insightful, heartfelt, and applicable to everyone. Please listen, it may be what you needed to hear.
